Took us days to align on what hotel in SLO we would base camp it from, and Hotel Cerro was the pick! Very dog friendly (LOVE) and really wonderful staff, the hotel took great care of us during outlet 3 night stay. We had a very nice room, clean and loved the balcony/seating. The filtered water/ice area was great. Sleep quality was excellent, beds and linen top notch! The entire property is really lovely and well kept, super central and walkable to everything. We had a 30 dollar F&B credit daily and found the food in their restaurant to be great. ||Only negatives were we had someone above us running and jumping at night and in the AM too early, non stop. Kids maybe? ||If in SLO area again, will stay here AND bring my pups along!

Brought my wife here for her birthday and were both surprised by the hospitality. The architecture is genius, somehow offering privacy without isolation. This hotel emanates "Autograph." The adjoining restaurant, where we ate at least 4 times, only had tasty offerings. ||The Hotel Cerro is so nice that we hesitate to write a review because now more people will know.

We had a great stay at the Hotel Cerro! The staff were all very friendly and attentive to our needs. The valets were amazing- they had their hands full with it being move-in weekend for Cal Poly but they always had smiles on their faces. The front staff was also great- they even called us to let us know we left our computer behind after we checked out. That means everything. The hotel is very cute and is in a great spot with tons within walking distance. We will definitely be back!

We had Room 325 (2 Double Beds with balcony and city view)
The Good: 1) Reception, Katherine, beautiful and gracious. Katherine made our stay wonderful and relaxing. 2) The dining vouchers for Oak Grill Restaurant are straight to the point and so useful. It's too bad that not too many customers eat here. The foods are delicious and well priced, esp with the given vouchers. 3) Hotel is middle of downtown SLO with many cafés and restaurants from which to choose.
Not so good: 1) For over $300/night, we expected our room cleanned properly. There was a thick layer of dust on the bed's headboards. I had to wipe off both headboards myself. Bathroom's faucets had mold and gunk on the handles and mold on the walls. Peed stains next to the toilet. 2) Valet parking is $40/night. 3) Loud car noises right outside our balcony until 11pm. Loud construction noises in room upstairs from 6AM to 8AM. 4) "City View" is basically the CVS, Wells Fargo and Charles Schwab's buildings.
Take away: For parking, there are plenty around the hotel (structure on Palm St is $8/max per day). I believe for our next stay, we will try out SLO Hotel, same price range but bigger.

Such a beautiful property, vine covered brick, lovely outdoor spaces, and such amazing rooms. This would be an excellent stay for a romantic get away or even a business retreat. Vance at the front desk made my stay even better with his incredible customer service and compassion for my long travel day. 5-Stars, highly recommend!

Location is great! Walkability to places and restaurants was very convenient.
Valet was quick and helpful, especially shout out to Hugh.
Front desk was attentive and approachable.
Only downside, which I value highly, was the housekeeping. It was disappointing to see dust bunnies and loose hair from previous guests right when checking into a “new” room.
Also, I choose to stay at a hotel over Airbnb so I don’t clean after myself. Housekeeping turned my room down after 18:00, which was really inconvenient when I just want to rest in my room.

I’d probably stay here again, but would say something if I notice it’s dusty.

Our stay at Hotel Cerro was fantastic! We had a beautiful garden view room with the best patio, which was perfect for relaxing and enjoying the serene atmosphere. The staff was incredibly nice and accommodating, making us feel welcomed from the moment we arrived.||||The on-site restaurant was also a highlight of our stay—every meal was delicious, with fresh ingredients and impeccable service. We especially loved the laid-back and charming vibe of San Luis Obispo. The little town has such a cute, friendly atmosphere, and everyone we met was so kind and laid-back.||||We can’t wait to come back for another perfect getaway!

Staying at this hotel feels like a form of torture. I’m writing this review from 1am due to extremely loud noise coming from nearby bars. I arrived at this hotel while on a long roadtrip intending to get some much needed rest. Instead, I’ve been trying to rest since 9pm with the music incrementally getting louder with every hour. The noise is so loud now that the room is shaking. I’ve been to Vegas a dozen times and have never heard anything like this. Do not stay here if you care about your sanity.
