Gross Mistreatment of Customers

On Sunday 10/27/24, a group of friends and I, who have been patrons for many years, visited Gate City to enjoy some drinks, shots, and to socialize. We are responsible adults in our 30s/40s. Unfortunately, our experience was marred when a security guard intervened to remove one of our party members, who was covering the tab. This action was taken following a complaint from the bartender regarding a supposed violation of a “one shot per hour” rule.

I have never encountered such a restriction before and find it concerning that shots were served and charged if this policy was to be enforced afterward. The bartender had the option to deny pouring drinks and shots if it was truly against the rules. The security personnel claimed they observed multiple shots being consumed by the removed party and stated that the bartender is responsible for informing customers of this rule. When I personally asked the bartender about the situation, all she did was shrug, which was disappointing. However, as someone who does not drink, I was fully aware of the situation and can attest that the claims made were questionable.

This incident highlighted not only a lack of communication skills, but also an absence of professionalism from the staff. We even had strangers stopping us in the parking lot to express their agreement and to voice how unjust the mistreatment was. I believe that implementing comprehensive training for staff regarding policies and customer service would greatly enhance the overall experience for patrons. Due to this experience, we, along with other patrons who also left the bar in response, have decided to boycott this establishment moving forward.

I would appreciate being contacted by corporate to discuss how they plan to address this situation, as it overshadowed what should have been an enjoyable conclusion to our weekend.

my wife and I have been going to your casino for about 6 months, we like the casino. We stopped by on December 18, 2024 at about 3pm. We sat down at your restaurant, we were there about 15-20 minutes and no server came over, a lot of staff had walked by us but never asked if we wanted to eat. My wife went up to the bar and the bartender told her to have a set and someone would be over, my wife explained that we have been sitting there for 20 minutes. My wife got a menu and we waited for another 15 minutes and we were never acknowledged
So we got up and left!

Very bad business

Not too big and not too small! Good atmosphere to have a drink and watch some sports. Added fun with some table games and slots. Tried the semi-automated craps table and once you get used the betting it's still a pretty fun version of normal table although a regular craps table would be welcome. Will visit again.

Went there for the first time yesterday and was very impressed. It was a lot larger than I expected. Very nice black jack dealers. Beer is a little expensive so keep that in mind. There is not free alcohol like at the big casinos but still enjoyed my day.

Bar needs to list the rule about taking shots. How many shots per hour? According to the security that told our group was 1 shot per hour. Just be honest that you’re lazy to make drinks for a group. What bar hates making money from someone ordering shots? She’s not a real bartender. And for the security that didn’t know the whole story, do better. You’ve just lost a bunch of customers. Train your bar staff employee and securities better please.

I had the Chicken Ceasar wrap. The portion size was good and the price was fair. Decent beer selection and lots of screens to keep you entertained.

Horrible service from the bartender. Complained outwardly about making drinks, heard her say, "Now how many shots am I making for the night?" in a rude manner. The situation could have been handled a lot better instead of needing to involve security and implementing a 1 shot per hour rule on the spot. Security was rude as well and was on a power trip enforcing this "one shot per hour" rule as well. If you don't want to do your job as a bartender and make drinks, don't be a bartender. Don't work in the service industry, if you want to be rude to customers. Hire better staff that actually have good customer service skills.

Had a great time for my first time being there the other night. The staff was very informative and kind. They made me feel welcomed. I recommend there establishment. Check them out if you're ever in the Nashua area.
